Bengaluru-based EcoBuild Labs has introduced a green building certification tailored for tropical climates. The system scores passive cooling, rainwater harvesting, solar adoption, indoor air quality, and local-material sourcing. Their inaugural project, a residential complex near Whitefield, Bengaluru, has been certified. Plans include scaling to multi-story buildings across South India, with pilot collaborations underway in India’s Smart City program.
